Go Noura Jewellery

To what extent do adornment and jewellery speak about the wearer? Does it say anything or nothing at all? What is the role of materials? Through my work, I begin to unpack these questions by reestablishing what jewellery means to my identity and culture by using materials such as dkhoon (incense) and fabrics to create a narrative that questions value and desirability.

Noura is from the United Arab Emirates and is a graduate from the Royal College of Art with a Masters of Art in Jewellery and Metal. She looks into this idea of having wearable art jewellery, that is inclusive to all genders. A believer in handmade objects because they always have this beautiful and raw character to them, she intends to provide the same through her jewelry. Creating just to sell isn't her purpose, it is to create in order to express her emotions and ideologies on gender, sensuality, womanhood, and feminism.

What people associate with their bodies is a powerful symbol and through her collection of wearable pieces, she began to unravel the idea of what is important to us and how it is correlated with jewellery.

She believes there is a value in people's narratives as individuals. The broken is as beautiful. The natural forms, the not so perfect circle, the folds. As each human being is different, why do we expect our jewellery to be generic?
Each piece is individualistic.
